While this printer is rated at 1500 lines per minute, it handily outperforms competitive 1800 LPM offerings in many cases. The Tally T6215 is the only line printer on the market to offer full Internet printer management support utilizing Hewlett Packard's Web JetAdmin©. In addition, it provides "Class A" bar code readability, 10 printer emulations, and popular graphics languages free of charge. The T6215 has no peer for use in mission-critical business printing applications.

Mission critical print applications often include bar code printing. In a manufacturing or shipping environment, unreadable bar codes can bring the entire operation to a halt. The Tally T6215's bar code readability is nearly flawless-Class A-as a result of our proprietary Read/Right bar code algorithm. 

When pitted against the competition in real world speed tests, the T6215 finishes first-even when the challenger is a faster rated 1800 LPM competitor. This is possible because speed ratings represent maximum performance in draft mode, whereas routine print jobs contain letter quality fonts, graphics or special characters that result in much slower print speeds. In our own tests involving three very common print files (a Windows file, a standard invoice, and a POSTNET bar code run) the T6215 outperformed the Printronix P5215 (1500 LPM) and the Genicom 6180 by impressive margins. 

The T6215's record-breaking throughput is made possible by the implementation of four tractors-two above and two below the print line-which guarantee efficient forms handling. These tractors, combined with a straight paper path and a high-speed, high-torque paper drive, result in significantly higher slew speeds, (the speed at which the printer advances paper when blank spaces exist on the page).

Page Segment Architecture, first introduced in 1996, is another speed-enhancement made possible by the T6215's proprietary controller. This device intelligently arranges data into page "segments" prior to printing, allowing text and graphics to be printed in just one pass and eliminating the need for time-consuming forms reversal.

Connectivity is Key for LAN's, IBM Systems and the Web

The T6215 is plug-and-play compliant and provides more emulations than any other line printer. In addition to the standard auto-switching serial and parallel I/O's, a comprehensive suite of fully integrated interfaces can be either user installed or configured at the factory.

True innovation and unmatched functionality is delivered in the LanPlex interface which provides serial, parallel and Ethernet 10BaseT or 100BaseT with or without IPDS. LanPlex equips the T6215 to be the only line printer with HP Web JetAmin@compatibility — an industry standard printer management tool. WebPanel, another LanPlex utility, is an embedded web server which allows complete configuration via the network with any standard web browser. Printer and network interface configuration, full status and diagnostics capabilities, and on-line help are all advantages of WebPanel on the T6215. For the IBM world, the FourPlex I/O adds Twinax and Coax connectivity to the serial and parallel standard configuration.
